We all need music that really gets your legs pumping, beats to keep you spinning down those hills, and cutting lines through Trafik (LoL). Some of L.A.’s top labels contributed to the TL&R, creating a movie that’s stacked with hits from beginning to end featuring Silversun Pickups, Hot Hot Heat, Minus The Bear, Santogold, Darker My Love, Futurecop!, Sea Wolf, Eulogies, Willowz, and tons more.
Silverlake based Dangerbird Records was a major sponsor, working with us to create a soundtrack that matches the fast-paced action of fixed gear riding with the unique vibe that defines Los Angeles. Also onboard the production was Dim Mak Records, you know Steve Aoki knows what’s wheelie gewd. Adding to the eclectic mix were I Heart Comix and Anticon, who were down to rep L.A. and fixed gear culture.
But don’t sleep on hip-hop. When I ride, it’s mostly what is pumping through my lines in the street. L.A. street poet BAMBU threw down some tracks, along with our homeboy INTUITION. The Bay is also represented by CROWN CITY ROCKERS, and from the SWTBRDS label DaVinici and StreetMedia. East Coast MC, Billy Drease Williams rounds it out with some NY flavor.
