TRAFIK is proud to announce that we are now an OFFICIAL SPONSOR of the Gorilla Smash Squad (GSS). This is a talented group of young LA riders reppin K-Town who started racing in alley-cats and other events, and have recently started competing and winning legit sanctioned races. In the 2012 and 2013 WPH Crash Race they had multiple riders finish in the top 10 and they are looking to clean up in the Wolfpack Hustle Crit and Drag race, both of which play to their strengths. They also have a secret weapon on the squad, State Champion and King of Vegas Winner – Tony Zaldua.
TRAFIK is very excited for the upcoming race season and to be supporting such a dedicated race squad. Check out our blog all season for updates on the Gorilla Smash Squad races and meet the team below!

We Ride Together, We Die Together…No Rider Left Behind.
It’s our motto, our message, our pact. Fixed Gear Culture is a global brotherhood of #TRUERIDERS and this new tee-shirt release by TRAFIK x YEAH! is a celebration of our shared culture that transcends race, politics, and language.
The TRUE RIDERS SOCIETY Tee-shirt package is the result of months of work with our international partner YEAH! BDG all the way from Bandung, Indonesia. YEAH! is a group of riders and designers who feel the same way we do about Fixed Gear Culture. Although we didn’t speak the same language, it was obvious we were on the same page. We worked with Boncu, their in house graf artist, to create something truly unique to celebrate this global culture. The original font we incorporated is based off ancient Indonesian text (Sundanese for you language geeks out there), and the front graphic is dedicated to our friends and fellow riders who have left it all on the street, doing what they love.
We wanted to make this the best product we have ever released, so we only used super high quality material – a difference you can really feel, and we wanted to include as many cool details as possible. Not only is there a front and rear graphic on this shirt, but two hidden logo hits on the sleeves and a printed size label. You’ll also find TRAFIK and YEAH! woven labels sewn in to finish off this piece of wearable art. But we didn’t stop there…
We added a printed TRUE RIDERS SOCIETY Hangtag and chain that explains the idea of the collaboration, and we had some special stickers made that only come with this package. You’ll get some TRAFIK x YEAH! reflective decals and a sticker version of the front skull & helmet graphic. Plus, everyone’s favorite TRAFIK Bike Decals are thrown in too. Everything is packaged all nice and neat in a custom printed True Riders Society envelope that you’re not gonna want to throw away.

So we are stoked on this international collab and we hope you are too! To sweeten the deal, if you are one of the first orders we will include a limited YEAH! sticker pack AND if you order TWO shirts, we will throw in a branded YEAH! Canvas Tote bag as a thank you gift (while supplies last). We already sent out a couple samples of this product, so we were glad to hear the nice things Folly had to say.
So stop by the TRAFIK SHOP and check it out for yourself. Did we mention these are Limited Edition? Yup, when they are gone, that’s it. So to all you #TRUERIDERS out there, thanks for supporting Global Fixed Gear Culture.
Tecate Madness 2013 – Wrap-Up

This past weekend the TRAFIK team drove across the border to Tecate, Mexico to participate in the 2nd annual Tecate Madness event. It was an awesome weekend right from the start…

Packed into a couple cars we came up on the border rolling deep… JOHNNY from LDG and SKYLMT, JAKOB SANTOS from LDG and Burro, JOSH BOOTHBY from Leader, and of course the homies NEU YORK from Unknown/Maestros and MIKE CHACON from Leader. The Tecate Fixed crew set up the event in an abandoned supermarket. Great space to just be ourselves without having to worry about cleaning up really. There were some ramps and stairs that made it like a street course for the FGFS riders too.

It got packed quick and the turnout was more than last year… dudes from LEADER Mexico came out all the way from D.F. Christian, Charlie from theawarewolfs from SD, the dudes from MEXICOFIXED, it was also great to see familiar faces from last trip; Bolas, Omar, Hector, Jesus “the Helper” from the TJ fixed gear scene….@achemele and Kilolibra, a lot of locals from SD came out too including Marcus and owner of Leaderbike, SAL! Big ups!
There was a bunch of events scheduled that day, first off was the alleycat. This race was no joke, racing through the streets of Mexico, gnarly terrain at times, plus drivers didn’t give 1 fuck, but neither did we. The advantage here went to the locals and it showed as they placed 1, 2 and 3. They brought the heat and knew their city well.
Johnny, Jakob, Mike and Boothby were killing the trick event busting 360’s and barspins over 8ft gap ramps and a set of stairs. The crowd was really feeling it. The footdown comp was won by Jakob and Boothby and they shared their winnings with all the riders that came out to support… but first they had to win an arm wrestling match. The rest of the goodies were tossed to the crowd. Unfortunately no ghettodrome for the lack of the wood, really wanted to get a picture of that, but we still had mad fun. No doubt they know how to party in a city named after our favorite beer.
Big thanks to WICHI and LAURA from TECATE FIXED for the hospitality and showing us a great time. To our Sponsors ERGON, WHITE LIGHTING, OURY, DVS and THOMSON for helping out with the prize bags. Thanks to johnny_coward for hooking it up with the ride even though it was cramped as hell. We appreciate him putting up with us, 5 bikes, 5 peeps in a Corolla with 5 traveling bags. lol.
It was awesome to have an international fixed gear event like this so close to home. Great work Tecate Fixed, see you next year!
