March 30th kicked off the 2013 Red Hook Championship Series. This was the first of four races being held in NY, Barcelona, and Milan. Highly regarded as the premier event for underground racing, elite cyclists came from all around the globe to see who would reign victorious.

TRAFIK sent a team to seriously report on the race, but they just ended up partying in NYC and taking some cool photos…just as we expected. This race had a real international flavor, it seemed like everyone came out to compete; athletes from Italy, London and Amsterdam to name a few. Wolfpack was reppin LA, and the Pomona guys from MOBBIN MONDAYS were in it till the end. We holla-ed at Rudy Melo (“I need a spanner!”) and the fellas from the 5th Floor spinning around the course (bottom pic on left). And you know the Gorilla Smash Squad (GSS) came out to rep K-town and get a piece of the action (Pic above featuring Neu York).

200 elite racers fought for the #1 position, and in the end New York’s very own Neil Bezdek took it!  The next race is will also be hosted in NY June 8th, and the last two are to be held in Barcelona, Spain and Milan, Italy in Aug and Oct. Check Red Hook’s site for full details.
