We know a bunch of you are already on your way up to the Bay for the Red Bull Ride & Style, but if you’re keeping it local this weekend check out this race happening on Saturday in LA. TRAFIK is a proud sponsor of the Reckless Behavior Race; registration starts at 1pm in Silverlake. Be there!

CICLAVIA went down again in Los Angeles, bringing HUGE amounts of bikes into Downtown LA.

This event has happened a few times now and seems to be getting bigger every time. Over 100,000 bikes were there and it showed. We were stuck at a light in DTLA as it changed 3 times, for a minute it seemed like there were too many bikes out there. Is there such a thing as a bicycle traffic jam?

Even with all the commotion, noobs swerving in and out, and people stopping in the middle of the road for no apparent reason, we didn’t see any accidents and LAPD reported ZERO arrests. Yea for us!

An event like this makes you wonder what it would really be like without cars. As cyclists we are able to circumvent certain obstacles (like red lights) that cars face. But if everyone is on bikes, we would have to abide by traffic rules or run into a peloton of riders crossing in front of us. Would there be a bike FAST lane and a SLOW lane? It definitely would be easier to talk to girls at red lights.

TRAFIK had a great day of riding, hanging with the homies and handing out prizes when we spotted riders rocking TRAFIK decals and shirts. Next one is in October, see you there!

The Wolfpack Marathon CRASH RACE was an awesome success this weekend. Almost 1000 racers showed up for what was to be an epic night of parties, friends, and sweat. The rain looked pretty hectic for a minute, but by 3am it was clear and cool. Perfect racing weather.

Aside from the false start (some people near the front got excited and the entire herd followed), the race went off smooth. The lead pack even had a police escort! Thanks LAPD. Pushing to the finish line down San Vincente was long, dark and fast. That sketchy left to the finish led to some crashes.

The dogtags stayed in L.A! First-place fixed-gear went to Edgar from Long Beach, followed up by the velo champ James Zaldua and TRAFIK rider Henry Grijalva rounding out the podium at 3rd.

This was an epic event that showed what is possible when like-minded cyclists come together. TRAFIK was stoked to be involved – Big thanks to all the cyclist who came out and made this the biggest street race in the world. Special thanks to Wolfpack, Roadblock & Hern. TRAFIK collabed with some of Leader Bike’s best fixed gear riders on a sick photo and video shoot last week. We met up with Michael Chacon, Nick Ramirez from San Diego, and Jesus Lizama from Leader’s Team Kagero.
