Working at Orange 20, many customers ask me what the Bicycle Kitchen is. More often than not, i give them the short of it; “The Kitchen is a non-profit educational center.” It is located in the Los Angeles’ Bicycle District which is on the corner of Melrose and Heliotrope in Los Angeles. The organization is ran by volunteers called “Cooks,” that have a mission to promote the bicycle as a fun, safe, and accessable form of transportation. Read more..

First up the Ritte Bosberg. I like this one for the color choice
and the tastefully placed logos.

The Affinity booth had a good mix of bikes on display, from your
aluminum track machine, to a prop from a major motion picture
about being a bike messenger. I would love to test out a Kessina
at Encino.

I.Fab. Enough said.

Mixed feelings about Biacnchi’s line up this year. I’m stoked that they
are coming out with an affordable DT shifting road bike soon, but the
brands legendary pista frame seems to be having an identity crisis.

But they did have this one. Everthing was win until I took a closer look at
rear drop out. It seems like that was the one detailed that was overlooked,

Here are many detailed photos of Peter Diantoni‘s bike. I’m a huge fan of
COG magazine and have been a loyal reader for some time now. Look at the
little details of this bike. Nerd Alert! I love this bike.

I pledge allegiance to the SRAM.

Look, Boobies.

The best for last. Made to order, 0 out of 40 Phil Wood Ti Track frame.

What a beautiful way to wind down the weekend, than to race amongst your close friends in Southern California’s beautiful weather. The race was one for the books. Sean Martin (TOLA) did an amazing job of organizing the event and compiling a prize pot worth racing for. There was an Aluminum Pake track frame up for grabs to go to the Lord of Griffith. Wolf Pack set the tone for hard races and seeing more difficult ones like this in Los Angeles is exactly what the bicycle community needs.

Sean Martin was the Master Mind behind this intense race. I felt obligated to race this since he participated in my Summer Games race a month back.
Thanks to this guy, the race went off with out a hitch. Amazing! 54 racers were rumored participating.

Juice kits made a debut at this race. An overwhelming feeling of pride came over me when i suited up in this kit.

The leading peloton.

Orange 20 shop rats can beat any of your shop rats. i’ll put money on that.

The real Griffith Park guru!

Hern has the most victories in Los Angeles Street racing, hands down. There is a reason he wears a Mash kit to the track. He’s earned it.

Sammy is a fucking beast. Class of 69′ Alumni. It’s always a pleasure loosing to you in the velodrome.

New Orange 20 bike club kit. The Juice in full effect. This is what lap 3 looks like.

Tracko wheeling across the finish line.

Congratulations to Bud! He is the Lord Of Griffith.

Thanks to Devon Tsuno for the pictures!

This past weekend, despite the wet gravel and numerous swamp like puddles, a few Los Angeles riders competed in the first ever Chubby-Boob Hang Tag Race. The racers had to battle it out with each other and the elements. In the end Kyle Kelly ended up Hanging the first hang tag which meant he clutched the first place podium position. Enjoy the pictures, and i hope this even will grow with each race. Be on the look out for the next one this coming spring!

Check the rest of the photos here.

I would like to thank everyone who braved the weather and i hope everyone enjoyed the race! Congratulations to the winners. And thank you to all the sponsors of the race (Echo Park Cycles, Trackosaurus Rex, Cadence, Orange 20, Trafik Pictures, Stryker, The-Sleepers, Chubby-Boob), thanks to you, everyone that raced was able to walk away with something.

Victor and Ricardo threw an amazing even showcasing a race that our friends over at Take Over LA organized. That day i missed out on the race because of work, but watching it captured the tone of the race that started in Downtown Los Angeles. By the end, Matt Ruscgino took the win from Hern and Ricardo Mejia. Tony Z contributed the footage that was shown at the screening. The voices over were done tastefully and fully contributed nicely to showcase what was going through the racers heads. I hope this makes it in to this years BFF. Here are some stills from the screening.
