Our lil friend from across the pond. Fish ‘n’ Chips is part of the next generation killing it in the FGFS world. One of LAB rats, Dylan is really coming into his own and deserves his moment in the sun. Be on the look out for this kid this year…

Fish ‘n’ Chips:

“I love riding around Venice and using my creativity to hit everything I see. I like being surprised, there’s so much to ride out here, you just got to look. I love anything i can jump off, ultimately.

L.A. has an incredible bike scene, it always makes me smile when i see the roads packed with bikes on a sunny day. I was a big midnight rider which really opened my eyes to the bike community, I met amazing people with all sorts of stories. I remember when fixed gears really took off, it was crazy, now it’s normal to see a fixed gear on every street in L.A.

At the point we’re at now, I think L.A. has the potential to be one of the best places to bike in the world. It’s all in the hands of the city and the people.”

Brimstone Ridazz! One of the Westside riders in our film, you can find Fram at LA Brakeless working behind the counter or riding along Venice beach on any given day. He brought a lot good times to the shoot and if you want to see what we mean by that, you are gonna have to swoop on the DVD tonight at 12am! Then you better bring those good times to release party this Saturday.

Fram:

“My favorite spot to ride is Venice Beach for sure. The beach is the center of activity for everything on the West side, from girlies to crazy bums to the smoothest concrete in L.A. There is also a lot of history in Venice Beach, maybe we’ll become a part of that. Sunset/Hollywood is a close 2nd.

People that come from other cities to ride here don’t understand how congested the streets really are. It’s like rush hour from 8-6 everyday. But, surprisingly, L.A. is a really beautiful place with lots of scenic views and parks. You just gotta get on your bike and find them.

The fixed bike scene is doing nothing but getting bigger and bigger! At first I noticed maybe one or two fixed gears a day, now it’s anywhere from 10 to 20 a day…at least.”

The Godfather of FGFS, Keo. Los Angeles showed Keo a lot of love during filming of TL&R (which drops at 12am!!!), and we hope it left a lasting impression on him. It was a joy to have the Don of trickery, in our midst. Super down to earth and a fucking good time, is the kind of guy Keo Curry is.

LA by Keo:
“L.A. was a trip. The bike community is as large as the city itself, which is awesome, but commuting on a bicycle is impractical for most people. Good news is the Fixed Gear community does it eveyday. As far as traffic goes, the drivers proved much more aware of cyclists than I thought. George ran every light he could… Mercedes have good brakes!

The L.A. River is a spot I want to ride again for sure. It inspired me to get down, but we only spent an afternoon there. Next time.

During this film I made some true friends 4 life: Kuz, George, Fram, James, Joey, Fish, Beaves… BRIMSTONE!”

Official Los Angeles Release Party for To Live & Ride in L.A.!

It’s going down! Saturday, June 25th, a screening and release party for To Live & Ride in L.A. It’s a worldwide event with co-release parties in London, Germany, and Phoenix on the same night!

When: Saturday, June 25th – 8pm
Where: Royal/T Artspace
8910 Washington Blvd.
Culver City, 90232

This event is FREE! That’s right, come peep the movie everyone will be talking about, throw back some Pabst, and don’t make any plans for Sunday, cause we are going to rip Saturday a new one.

There will be DVD’s available to purchase.

This is a sick venue with over 10,000sqft of room.

Come with your bike and Chubby Boob will keep it safe during the event.

Get there early to meet the riders,
and enjoy DRINK SPECIALS from 7-8.

The Lord of Griffith: The OG Race…

This past Sunday was the third installment of the Lord of Griffith. At the afterparty, we screened this short film we made from the very first LOG. We were there way back when, filming the first one and sponsoring it as well as the next two installments and beyond. Look how easy the racers had it for the first race! The last two years were so much more harder. Sean is a Sadist, in a good way. The brainchild of our rider Sean from TOLA!, the LOG course takes racers through the largest metropolitan park in the USA. Smack in the middle of Los Angeles, Griffith Park provides grueling climbs, technical downhills and a little traffic fighting on surrounding streets. Year after year this race keeps getting bigger and better. We hope to see ya’ll out there next year, we hope to have more out of towners, too! This is another DVD extra feature only available on the DVD. Get hype, it is dropping on 6/21/11!!!

Yesterday was a smash success. Another Race brought to by our friends at TOLA! Sean has really made this into the race of the year, year after year. Epic and fun, with everyone walking away with product and smiles. We very happy to be apart of it and sponsor this race, year after year. To the results and what went down!

90+ Racers… Holy crap, that’s a lot of you showing love. Over 70 came in to finish. Pretty good for a lazy Sunday in the park. Three brutal laps up and over around Griffith Park. Congrats to those of you who finished and for the rest who didn’t or didn’t come out, there is always next year!

6/21/11. So Close. Can you feel it? Lots of good things about to be announced and happening soon enough. We feel like we are just teasing ya’ll, when what we are trying to do, is whip you into a frenzy, then drop this film for the whole world to enjoy. Is it working? We hope so.

This is an extended version of a scene from the film where Keo Curry and the Brimstone Riddaz check out one of LA’s well know spots, the beautiful LA River. Kuzberg goes in for a closer inspection. lol.

We are still getting a lot of questions as to when TL&R comes out on iTunes and DVD (the only place for 40 mins o Bonus extra features). There are some things coming up that will get your mouth watering for the release. More contests, more teasers, if you live in LA there will be some secret screenings and certain race after parties (Lord of Griffith III is June 5th). Just keep your eyes peeled here and remember….
